Loneliness is the human condition. Cultivate it. The way it tunnels into you allows your soul room to grow. Never expect to outgrow loneliness. Never hope to find people who will understand you, someone to fill that space. And intelligent, sensitive person is the exception, the very great exception. If you expect to find people who will understand you, you will grow murderous with disappointment. The best you’ll ever do is to understand yourself, know what it is that you want, and not let the cattle stand in your way.” – Janet Fitch
Diwali is just a few days away. For me the highlight of Diwali( with respect to art ) is Rangoli.
Last year I was in my native place for Diwali. Here is the pretty & colourful piece of art I created with the rangoli colours. Its done completely with hand & I used the siever only for the background.
( Ooppss I still remember how much my fingers ached in the end!)
Everytime I cook a new dish, I make it a point to garnish it well ( as I always say – WHAT LOOKS GOOD, SELLS WELL). No brownies to guess that the next step is to click a picture & upload on Facebook followed by blogging about it.
So this weekend, I finally cooked ‘stuffed capsicum’ for the first time & unexpectedly they turned out pretty well! With every passing week I realise my passion for cooking is growing deeper than my passion for painting ( I sense a danger).
You will find loads of recipes of stuffed capsicum on the internet. I just did a small modification of addding some sweet corn & raisins to the stuffing.
I hope you don’t forget to garnish your dish well next time, when you cook something
If you are wondering where on earth is this place located? Let me tell you its India! If you are planning on taking some time off and experience something celestial, this is the place. Away from the noise & traffic of city, the calm & serene waters of this lake, the soothing greenery and the ripple of water will transport you to a different universe. Believe me the view is breathtaking!! Its not just the lake, but the journey towards the lake which is also a spectacular one!
Now the most important question which you are waiting to be answered- where is this place??
That’s Tansa lake on Mumbai Nasik Highway, near Atgaon village. I would want all of you to visit this place once but I am afraid that this untouched place will soon turn into a tourist spot & lose its charm. So visit it & experience the celestial bliss but please maintain it for others to experience the same bliss.
This week it has been raining cats & dogs in Mumbai. Considering the ‘Alerts’ & ‘ warnings’, I decided to stay home today. The funny part is it did not rain at all today as expected.
But nevertheless, I woke up late, lazed around, finished an engaging novel ” The immortals of Meluha”, had a afternoon nap, went for a walk in the evening, sat at the window sipping tea and gazing at black clouds & finally ended the day with a sumptuous meal of ‘ makhmali paneer wrap’ and ‘ garlic bread’ with loads of cheeeeze!!
A monsoon day well celebrated!!
So as I was moving out after watching one of the most incredible structure & one of the wonders of the world – ‘ The leaning tower of Pisa’, I saw a crowd of people giggling & laughing. To my surprise, the in the entire lot of people adorning colourful clothes, was this man adorning the ‘ black & white – Charlie Chaplin’ avatar. He was differently dressed, doing silly acts but, we all stood watching him. Even after I walked past a few metres from the place, his face, his attire, his actions kept playing in my mind.
“I just realized you don’t always need a lot of embellishment, glitter & colour to stand out. You can be different yet stand out. The problem is that each one of us is trying to fit in when most of the people are born to stand out.”
I am sure you too must have gorged on donuts on 28th June – ‘World Donut day’. I too did- here is the proof!!
